Abigail Brings us a Ballerina Vampire in April

In the upcoming Universal monster movie Abigail, we are introduced to a character played by Giancarlo Esposito, who has assembled a crew for a criminal caper. It's the kidnapping of a young ballerina from a wealthy family who they expect to pay a hefty ransom. But there's a surprise in store for them- the kidnappers don't know they have barricaded themselves into a house with a vampire! It's an intriguing twist on the haunted house genre, combining a heist movie with a horror film.

The story is loosely based on the 1936 film Dracula's Daughter, so loosely that you might just say it's "inspired by." Abigail is played by 14-year-old Irish actress Alisha Weir. Abigail also stars Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, William Catlett, Kevin Durand, and Angus Cloud, who died one month into filming last year. It is one of two films he will be seen in posthumously in 2024. Abigail will open in theaters on April 19. This trailer contains NSFW language. -via Digg ā€‹
