Batman's Long Halloween Will Be Even Longer

The Long Halloween is a 13-issue DC comic book series first released in 1996 and '97 that pits Batman against the villain called Holiday who murders someone every month on a holiday. The critically-acclaimed series spawned sequels and influenced the 2008 movie The Dark Knight. You may have seen the animated movie version, first released in 2021. The original comic was drawn by Tim Sale, who died in 2022. But his work lives on.

Jeph Loeb, who wrote the original story, has written the script for another series called The Long Halloween: The Last Halloween, based on a story Sale discussed with Loeb before he died. It will be a 10-issue series with the first issue to be released on September 25. What a perfect gift for the Halloween season! The cover image above was drawn by Sale, but the series will be illustrated by a trio of other artists. Read all you need to know about The Long Halloween: The Last Halloween at Gizmodo.
