In a frightfully fun tribute to Halloween and the Sanderson Sisters, Alyssa Rivers of the Recipe Critic has created the perfect October Charcuterie board. The festive appetizer platter uses a broad range of savory and sweet ingredients to create this homage to the Hocus Pocus film franchise.
For those of you who don’t remember, Hocus Pocus is the 1993 Disney film about three witch sisters. Hocus Pocus 2 is being released on Disney+ in September of 2022.
Most of the items used to make this boo-tiful board are store bought. Only a few things require some tweaking. The bats, for example, are made from peanut butter cups as the base with 1/2 Oreos as wings. The Sanderson Sisters (Winifred, Sarah, and Mary) are created by embellishing simple wheels of brie. Licorice is added for lips and eyes. Fruit, meat, and cheese are used to create each character's signature hair style. Despite the simplicity of the ingredients, the completed board is magically creative.
