While most middle school kids are probably saving up money for the newest video game, Elliot Arnold of California was saving up for something much scarier. The 7th grader was hoarding birthday money and working odd jobs to fund an elaborate haunted house. One that he built almost entirely on his own.
The attraction is called the Deathly Attempt and is located in a suburb of Los Angeles called Woodland Hills. According to Elliot’s website, the idea of a haunted house was born from pandemic boredom. Like most people he formulated a plan. Unlike most people he meticulously executed that plan, and created a multi-room haunted maze at his home. He even employed his little sister to be one of the actors. After all, this was a haunted house "created and operated by a teenager, to scare everyone."
