If you've already seen Nicolas Cage as Dracula in the movie Renfield, be assured that it won't be the last Dracula film this year. In August we will get The Last Voyage of the Demeter, which is no comedy. It's a straight up horror story from Bram Stoker himself. The Last Voyage of the Demeter takes place completely on a cargo ship, which Count Dracula hired to carry 50 crates/coffins filled with Transylvanian soil, one of which contains the vampire himself, from Carpathia to London.
This all happens in the Bram Stoker novel Dracula in one chapter titled "The Captain's Log." If you've read the novel, you'll know how it ends, but I'm not telling you if you haven't. The movie stars Corey Hawkins, Aisling Franciosi, Liam Cunningham, and David Dastmalchian and is directed by Norwegian filmmaker André Øvredal. The Last Voyage of the Demeter can be seen at a theater near you on August 11.
