Halloween can never come too early for those who celebrate it all year long! While you probably won't see halloween candy in most stores until after the back to school rush, the Hershey Company has already put Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkins up for grabs at their online store. Two pounds of the candy will cost you $24.99. This is the earliest that Hershey has ever introduced Halloween candy. I shudder to think about the temperatures these candies will be exposed to during shipping, but the store says they are "cool ship eligible." They don't explain what that means.
Why are they offering Halloween candy so early? Looking at the press release, we would guess it is to promote the Halloween activities at Hershey's Chocolate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Trick-or-Treat Trail will open on September 13, offering treats like milkshakes, s'mores, cider, and candy to costumed trick-or-treaters.
