Hilarious Costume Ideas from 1986

Philadelphia poet Alina Peskova came into the possession of a discarded copy of the 1986 book Jane Asher's Fancy Dress. The book gives instructions for how to make costumes for Halloween and other occasions, using many items you might already have around your house.

But these costumes aren't of classic monsters or pop culture characters. They are mostly random objects, probably inspired by the items around the house you make them from. Peskova posted pictures from the book on Twitter for our amusement.

Let's see some more of these gems.

The British actor-turned-author was rather tickled that her book went viral on Twitter, as she told British Vogue. Asher also confirmed that some of the models are well-known actors, friends that she enlisted to pose in the costumes.
