Magic Wheelchair is a Nonprofit That Creates Amazing Costumes for Kids in Wheelchairs
A spooky and magical Halloween season was gifted to 6-year-old Evan Hermanson through a local nonprofit organization called Magic Wheelchair. This organization was established in 2015, and aimed to serve families with disabilities by bringing their visions to life. Part of their business is to match kids’ dreams with different builders around the US. Magic Wheelchair made Hermanson’s dreams come true by creating a wheelchair designed with motifs from the Disney movie Cars. The child was delighted to see that he can dress up as Lightning McQueen, his favorite character from the show even with a wheelchair. Galleries of Awesome Halloween Costumes from Adults, Children, and Pets
Many people try homemade pop culture costumes for Halloween, but if you're going to pull it off, especially if it's a pun costume, you've got to put a lot of effort into getting it just right, or else you'll be spending all your time explaining what you are supposed to be. But if you get it exactly right, you may end up going viral! The folks above, in pictures posted by redditor gulaboy, went with the concept of Fast Food Villains, and they are quite easy to recognize, even in their evil alter-egos. I especially love Colonel Negan Sanders! This group is the top-ranked Halloween costume in a gallery of 50 clever and creative costumes at Bored Panda. See them all, because you don't want to miss the cat tree, the large hairy guy dressed as Britney Spears, Bert and Ernie, and some that are totally uncanny because the person wearing the costume already looks like the celebrity they are impersonating.
The Ridiculous Extremes of Sexy Halloween Costumes
The custom of wearing a "sexy" Halloween costume is not at all new. In the '70s and '80s, I had the necessary black form-fitting clothing items that enabled me to dress as a sexy space hero, a sexy witch, and a sexy vampire with the addition of the appropriate makeup and props. It works for young single people at secular holiday parties. But when the costume industry got involved, things began to go haywire. Costumes became more topical and more cheaply produced. To introduce new costumes every year, companies take TV characters, random objects, and current memes and design them into costumes that you'll never wear outside your home any other time of year. See what I mean in this list of The Absolute Worst “Sexy” Halloween Costumes of 2022. The Mary Sue posts this list every year; check out the costumes for 2021 and 2020 as well. You can find such galleries going back much further. The costumes have even inspired meta jokes.Yes, many of these costumes are purchased to wear "ironically," but the effect is the same no matter your motive. If you want to save some money and make your own ridiculous sexy costume to spoof the trope, start with a bikini or catsuit, possibly with a miniskirt, and add just enough accessories to make your vague concept plausible. The less sexy the concept is, the more ridiculous the finished product will be. If you pull it off, someone you meet at a Halloween party will laugh, think of you as clever, and then buy you a drink. Or maybe not. -via Metafilter #costume #sexycostume
Cats Do Not Enjoy Wearing Halloween Costumes
Cats may be okay with being used as a symbol of Halloween. They might even like the carved pumpkin, to pose with, sit inside, or chew on. But cats, on average, do not care a bit for dressing up in silly costumes, or even normal human clothing. They have a perfect fur coat already, thank you very much. Pampered house cats will put up with a lot of nonsense in exchange for a bowl of kibble and a warm bed, but they all have their limits.

Bridgerton Costumes Will be Hot for Halloween 2022
Season two of the Netflix TV series Bridgerton became the most-streamed English language TV show in the network's history. One of the reasons the show is so popular is the luxurious looks of the characters (there are other reasons). No doubt the lush Edwardian fashions of the show will be in demand for Halloween costumes. Because you want to get the look just right, you may want to start early, collecting the clothing and accessories to duplicate the dress of Bridgerton's main characters. Good Housekeeping goes through a list of ten character from Bridgerton and how you can look that way yourself for Halloween. They even provide links to the products you'll need! However, you've got time to shop around or even make some of those yourself. Check out how you can be Daphne, Simon, Edwina, Anthony, Madame Delacroix, or even Queen Charlotte in this list.(Image credit: Liam Daniel/Netflix)#costume #Bridgerton
A Century of Halloween Costumes
Halloween costumes have come a long way since the early 20th century. Back then, most costumes were homemade, and therefore really creepy, depending on one's talent. But they were supposed to be scary, right? Or at least ridiculous. Later Halloween became an excuse to dress up and show off. As mass marketing got into the game, costumes became more varied, but also more bland. Then Hollywood saw Halloween costumes as a marketing scheme to promote movies and TV series. Somewhere along the way, Halloween became an excuse for an adult party, in which you could dress up as sexy as you want, because it's a costume, right? Glamour magazine made a video photoshoot of Halloween costumes to highlight the more popular costumes of each decade from the 1920s to the 21st century.#costume #fashion #history
The Trendiest Halloween Costumes each Year Since 1950
As far as trick-or-treaters go, the most popular costumes will always be witch, pirate, princess, cowboy, and superhero. But pop culture always manages to slip in, especially for adults going to a Halloween party. Last year, the costumes from the TV series Squid Game were very popular, but you won't see nearly as many this year. And it's been that way since the neighbors first got a television set back in the 1950s. Here's a list that claims to show us the most popular costumes for each year from 1950 to 2005, although it's really a list of pop culture events that inspired Halloween costumes for each particular year. Some of them are bit of a stretch (Marcia Brady, really?) but it's still a walk through nostalgia land. If you want to continue perusing trendy Halloween costumes by year, check out the trendiest from 1983 to 2019.The thing to remember about designing your Halloween costume around the latest pop culture phenomenon is that you can be too trendy. It's no fun if you have to explain your costume to everyone else at the party. And beware of trends that have expired, because you'll have to explain your thinking all over again.#costume #costumetrend #vintage #throwback
